07/19/2008 - Springfield, MO (Golf Betting) - Colt Knost shot a three-under 69 on Saturday to hold the lead for the third straight day at the Price Cutter Charity Championship.
Knost completed three rounds at 16-under 200 and had a one-shot advantage on three players.
The Nationwide Tour rookie will be looking to become only the second two-time winner this season after he picked up his first career victory earlier this season at the Fort Smith Classic in May.
Knost also won both the U.S. Amateur Public Links and U.S. Amateur last year.
James Love, Webb Simpson and Vance Veazey all posted rounds of five-under 67 on Saturday to share second place behind Knost at 15-under 201. Five players were another shot further back at 14-under 202.
Overall, there were 27 players within five shots of Knost's lead after three rounds of good scoring at Highland Springs Country Club.
Each day the leaderboard has bunched up behind Knost, and each day he has managed to come out on top.
When he woke up on Saturday, Knost saw that some one was seven-under through 11 holes and sitting in second place. Stuff like that can happen, he figured, and it meant that he had to play more aggressively.
"I know I can't go out and play to the middle of the greens and stuff," Knost said. "I made plenty of birdies today, I just made too many bogeys."
His 69 on Saturday, which included six birdies and three bogeys, marked his worst score of the week by two shots. He opened with a 64 on Thursday to take the first-round lead, then protected it with a 67 on Friday.
"It was a pretty frustrating day," said Knost.
Although he lost his exemption to this week's British Open -- as well as the Masters and U.S. Open -- when he turned pro following his amateur wins last summer, Knost is making the best of that decision.
Ranked 20th on the money list entering this week, he is in good position for a top-25 finish at the end of the season, which would garner the talented 23- year-old rookie a PGA Tour card for next year.
A win on Sunday could carry him to No. 3 on the money list.
"I know there's a lot on the line tomorrow. I've just got to take it one shot at a time and go out and be aggressive," said Knost.

Chiefs' Treen Green out for Sunday's game
How long Trent Green will remain sidelined is unknown. Coach Herm Edwards said Monday he will miss a second straight start Sunday when the Chiefs host the San Francisco 49ers.
A two-time Pro Bowler, Green was going into a feet-first hook slide when he was knocked unconscious by a thunderous, head-snapping hit from Cincinnati's Robert Geathers.
Oddsmakers at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com currently have the Chiefs listed as 7-point favorites versus the 49ers.
The 49ers got beat by Philadelphia 38-24 as a 6.5-point underdog last week. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (42.5).
Alex Smith completed 27-of-46 passes for 293 yards with a touchdown. Michael Robinson rushed for 29 yards and a pair of touchdowns on five carries.
The Chiefs lost 9-6 to Denver last week as an 11-point underdog. The combined score was well UNDER the posted over/under total (38).
Larry Johnson rushed for 126 yards on 27 carries. Damon Huard completed 17-of-23 passes for 133 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions.

MySportsbook.com: NBA Championship Odds
With the playoffs about two months away, the top two teams in the Western Conference are the clear cut leaders to win the NBA Championship. The Dallas Mavericks have the best record in the NBA (44-9) and have been absolutely scorching since the second week of the season. What makes the Mavs’ record more impressive is the fact that they dropped their first four games of the season. Currently they have won 17 out of their last 18 and are MySportsbook.com’s favorite (2-1) to win it all. Right behind the Mavs are the Pacific leading Phoenix Suns (39-13). Last season, the Suns lost in the Conference Finals to non-other then the Mavericks four games to two. Of course the Suns were without center Amare Stoudemire who has is averaging 19.9 PPG and 9.5 RPG since coming back from his knee injury. Unlike the Mavs, the Suns have struggled a bit lately having lost their last three and four out of their last seven. Of course the main reason for their three straight loses is due to the absence of two time MVP Steve Nash, who is out with a shoulder injury. Heads-up, the Mavs have beaten the Suns in both of their meetings this season.
In the Eastern Conference, the Pistons (32-19) are the favorites to win it all at 6-1. The addition of Chris Webber seems to have been a good move for the Pistons. Since coming over from the 76ers, Webber has averaged 13.1 PPG and 7.3 RPG and the Pistons are 11-4. Even though the defending champion Heat are currently on the playoff making cusp, they are the Eastern Conference team that is getting the most action to win it all (9-1). The fact that Shaquille O’Neal is back in the starting lineup after missing 39 games probably has something to do with this. No doubt, Shaq makes a difference when in the lineup as their winning six out of their last seven would indicate.
